Thanksgiving Day

Visit with Aunt Nita

Our great week long Thanksgiving trip took us to Princeton, WV to visit Great Aunt Nita. She has lots of interesting things to touch and play with. This little music box was our favorite.

Halloween

Pumpkin patches mean that Halloween is nearby. I went as a little teeny weenie mouse while Will went as Luke Skywalker. Dad wanted to do a family thing where he was Darth Vader and I was Princess Leia. That wasn't really working for me.

Is this a big pumpkin or am I small? We picked out the perfect pumpkins for Halloween and even put it all together for a group shot that may make it on this year's Christmas card.

Trains, trains & more trains

Grandpa and Nona came to visit as well this fall. We visited the Duluth Train Museum which has a very impressive collection of train cars and engines. One of the most exciting things was a control panel with lots of switches and gauges. Then we took a very short ride on a caboose where a train robber stopped and boarded the car. Hence my expression.

Visit from the K's

We had a great visit from the K's this fall. Their dad was off to Australia for work so they hit the road for Atlanta. We spent lots of time at the park and visited a nearby dairy farm. Will volunteered to demonstrate how to milk a cow. Dad connected with the male turkey. I think it's that VT connection.

Snack relocated

Normally we have snack at the breakfast table, but a change of scenery is always good. It made perfect sense to setup a table in the foyer for snack. See how happy we are.

While we were with Buddy Bear at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, the butterflies paused long enough to have their pictures taken.

Weekend with Buddy Bear

One of our preschool activities is to have the class bear over for a weekend. I had a dress up party on Friday night followed by a trip to the nature center. Buddy was a good guest, said "please" and "thank you". Looking forward to having him back in the spring.

First day of school

This is the first day of school for Will and my first day at a new school. I think he will be a hit with the Star Wars t-shirt. This is my last year of preschool. I am doing five days this year. And best of all, I can do carpool line now. I'm such a big girl.

What happpened to my teeth?!?

If you look closely, you will see my two front teeth missing. About a year and a half early. I took a tumble during our farewell party in Richmond which loosened my teeth. Well, my lovely little brother finished them off by tackling me from behind. It was indeed upsetting, but I was brave for Daddy. The tooth fairy came to visit. And as you can see, my smile is back

This is one of our new neighbors. He is quite an interesting little fellow. Mom and Dad had never seen a tree frog so even they were fascinated by it. Mom even got a little excited when three of them were stuck to the window one night. Fun seeing adults be silly.

Extreme couponing

We all have jobs to do. Mine is to cut out the coupons from time to time. It is really about using scissors and cutting straight lines. "Mom...do we need dog biscuits and denture cream? Nevermind, I already cut it out."

Can I drive the truck?

This is absolutely one of the coolest things EVER! The truck driver let us sit in the cab (probably violating a bunch of rules, he will remain anonymous). We beeped the horn to let our new neighbors we had arrived.

Time to say goodbye

Before leaving Richmond, we had one final get together with friends from the neighborhood. It is definitely hard to leave. We will miss our friends, but with Facebook, Skype and the good old fashion US Postal Service, we can stay connected. And hopefully Daddy's company will move us back in three years.

Maeve has got the supervisor role down pretty well. Why am I doing all the work?!? I'm having fun, so it's all good.

Dad is home!

Daddy started his new assignment in Atlanta and has been traveling there during the week. I miss rolling around on the floor. Mom just doesn't play horse like Daddy does. I'm looking forward to us all being together again.

Memorial Day fun

Just a few weekend trips left to Virginia Beach before the move. Memorial Day weekend is the start of summer. We all have to do our part in return for a free place to stay. So after a little yard work, Maeve retired to the pool while I practiced kayaking.

They weren't kidding

So this whole moving thing wasn't a joke. Dad spent a couple of days getting the yard ready. And we can't make a mess. How exactly do a 2 and 4 year old not make a mess??? The fun part is watching Mom run around the house cleaning when we get a call from the realtor. Oh, and having the fire department come over...the oven is not a good place for storage.
