Our family website to celebrate the life of Maeve, born January 2007, and all of her adventures. Our family grew in February 2009 as we welcomed William home.
After our family outing, we adjourned for a quiet family celebration. Of course, there was chocolate cake. Someday soon, I will be able to each chocolate cake. I don't know why, but I'm just in my diaper. Dad blew out all the candles so he gets his wish. WEF
Mom and Dad have been on the go lately. If weekends aren't taken up with work, the family is in the car visiting someone. For Dad's birthday, we were actually in Richmond. We took the opportunity to spend the morning together. Maeve found lots of dandelions to blown on. We enjoyed the swings without fighting over them. And here was our first attempt at a Christmas photo. Not everyone (Maeve) was into the idea. WEF
I don't know what is going on, but Maeve has been getting a lot of face time on the family blog. There are TWO of us by the way. I filed a grievance with my union rep. They said I was entitled to an equal number of posts. So here are a couple of cute shots of me. WEF
I love to help Mom bake. Yes, I like being helpful and learning new things, but as you can see here there are benefits to being at the right place at the right time. MMF
My parents tell me they fall asleep reading. Usually the book smacks them in the face and they put it down. I apparently was so tired, the book didn't bother me. Glad to know I come by it honestly. MMF
The neighborhood had a food drive for the Central Virginia Food Bank. As part of the drop off there was a face painter for the kids. After careful study, I chose the princess crown. Despite my parent's best efforts, I like the pretty pink things. MMF
Now that Will is eating table and seeing how I am ALWAYS helpful around the house, I thought I'd help Mom and Dad by feeding Will. I'm the best big sister ever. MMF
I mastered crawling last week, and now I am on to pulling up. This is pretty easy really. I'm not sure why I haven't done this sooner. Of course, you get a little comfortable doing something and that whole balance thing catches up with you. Thanks Dad for selling me out by putting a picture up that shows my mild panic right before a fall. WEF
This year has been more fun for holidays. I am definitely starting to understand the traditions around each one. I actually had some input into this year's costume. I'm Angelina Ballerina and Will is a UVa student class of 2031. I didn't go door to door this year, but the family did go to a neighborhood party instead. Next year, Dad assures me, I get to practice my "trick or treat." MMF
I have recently started eating table food. This is one of my favorites. Who says kids cannot associate things at an early age? See the response Mom gets when she puts those things in front of my face. WEF
Sorry for the hiatus. Things have been a bit hectic here. But I'm back now. The family went up to meet the Gyory's at Carter's Mountain near Charlottesville. The farm has apple orchards and they sell lots of seasonal goodies. Luke and I are exploring which pumpkin to choose. And here a rare family shot. Of course, there is always one who cannot play along. MMF
Will can roll around a bit and he is starting to belly crawl, so I need to take advantage of my mobility while I can. It won't be long before he is chasing me around. And it won't be long before he is bigger than me. He almost is already!!! MMF
We know things won't always be rosy between us, but we've agreed that no matter how much we might dislike each other from time to time, we'll always love each other. MMF & WEF
The family had a staycation in September. But we did do an overnight trip to Williamsburg. Outlet shopping, strolling Colonial Williamsburg and Cracker Barrel. We also strolled by William and Mary to get this shot. A couple of months ago, Will and I paid a visit to the doctor's office. They called us by our first name-William and Mary (Maeve is my middle name). Mom and Dad hadn't realized the coincidence before then. MMF & WEF
Dad received word from the FCC that the Fairness Doctrine also applies to websites, so this our attempt to appease them. Of course, there would need to be about 20 more posts after this to balance things out between Virginia and Virginia Tech. WEF
Mom and Dad has visions of me posing for a first day of school outfit, but, as you can see, I wasn't cooperating. I don't know what my problem was. I love school! It is just two days a week for half day, but it is so much fun. I'm actually a little disappointed when Dad picks me up. MMF
Thanks Aunt Molly! I hit the jackpot when Grandmother pulled this out. I was ready to spend the entire weekend in this outfit. But even graceful ballerinas have to take a break. MMF
Will seemed particularly fussy today. Maybe he has an ear infection. I've seen the doctor do this. I can check it out. Hmmm...hmmm...well everything looks fine. Perhaps he is just teething. MMF
Even moms and dads need a new toy once in a while. This is Mom's. This is really a win-win. Mom doesn't have to work as hard to push us (50+ pounds between us) while we a smoother ride. By the way, we haven't fought over being on each other's side...yet. MMF & WEF
I'm pretty sure I left my underwear somewhere around here. Let me see...I was streaking, then I went to the potty, then I was playing with Will. My goodness where could they be? MMF
Aunt Molly told me this would happen. The first kid gets all the pictures the other kids get nothing. So, here I am. Showing off my new found sitting skills. Dad is just oblivious. Yes, Maeve has done this. It's not special. Dad, grab the camera and take a picture, now! WEF
Our first kid backpack had a part failure this spring. What happened? Will got an exersaucer with the return, and I got nothing. Just the one of many instances of the changing dynamic in the family. But I digress. Dad rallied and came home with this beauty. Purple...my favorite color. I enjoyed pretending it was a rocket ship. MMF
I saw Cora earlier this summer when Will was baptized. We were long overdue for a visit. We dined together, then it was story time. Mr. Dan is the best story teller. You can see he doesn't just read it, he really gets into the story. MMF
