Will stayed home to hand out candy while Dad and I went trick or treating. You can also see that Will kept a very keen eye on the pumpkin. Very diligent Bubby. Trick or treating can really wear you out. I asked Dad to carry me home. He mumbled something about being the farthest point from home in the neighborhood. He's a good sport. I think I will keep him.

Nothing more fun than getting your hands dirty from the insides of a pumpkin. Quite a tactile event. Dad did a good job. I had to point out the inside bits that he missed. Even Will was a good helper by keeping and eye on the stem.

Dad's company is very generous in hosting a family day at Kings Dominion. My bff Cora came down to meet me. Good times. Our dads put us in the bumper car only to realize we didn't know how to drive them. After a quick tutorial we were straight. Though a little dizzy from going around and around in circles.

Fun with food

Normally playing food is a major no-no at the table. Talk about something that will get Dad fired up in about a 1/2 second. But he was tolerant of this. Probably because I'm showing great appreciation of his yummy homemade blueberry peach jam. Much more flair than a milk mustache. I also developed a case of raspberry finger. It's not my fault they have holes in them that are just the right size for a 3 year old finger.

We're kids on the 2000's. A lame Mr. Potato Head with 5 or 6 parts doesn't work for us. Now it is a family of Potato Heads with 40 or 50 pieces. Dad does the best potatoes. We spend so much time in the car going from here to there so it was quite a treat to explore the cabin. Of course the best fun is touching all the buttons and knobs. Dad definitely needs the air conditioning on full blast when he gets in next. He also needs to listen to NPR at a loud volume as well.

Don't worry, it looks worse than it fells. There was a little incident at the church nursery with a rocking chair rail. I think the nursery minders were more upset than I was. After a second opinion, the doctor passed on stitches. If I were a little older, I probably would have played this up and got a few extra desserts out of it.

Over time, I have evolved in my appreciation of presents. My first year, the wrapping paper was a novelty. Last year, ripping the paper off was the best part. I have some issues with noise. So here I am while my guests are singing "Happy Birthday" to me. With that done, it was time for a monkey cupcake. First snow of the season

Since Dad is so far behind on the blog, I can label this "first snow of the season". Richmond has had three snow storms so far. The most recent brings snow totals to about 40" this winter. But Mom and Dad are completely over it so there are no pictures of the latest snow. I came to the realization that when you are 3 feet tall 15" of snow is a lot to manage. But I waded into it nonetheless. Dad was nice enough to shovel space for me so I could sample the snow.

Little brothers can be so silly. They enjoy calling big sisters out for being sick. Here we are having a good time together, but little did we know what would happen later that day. Will had his turn at being sick. And Dad, too. Unfortunately, Mom and Dad were at the Virginia Tech-Virginia football game (VT won again) when Dad had his turn. He had never used medical facilities at a game before, but was certainly glad they were there. Mom was ferried across town in an ambulance to fetch the car before the game ended.

History seems to be repeating itself. Major holidays mean sick kids. Not the "have a little cold or a low temperature" kind of sick. But the projectile type of sick. So here we are at Thanksgiving before it all went down. I had a great time. Anything my parents put in front of me I ate. Mashed potatoes, green beans, turkey, stuffing, etc. Maeve took one for the team this holiday. It came later, so we'll just stick with the pictures of the happy times.

Mom and Dad have been on the go lately. If weekends aren't taken up with work, the family is in the car visiting someone. For Dad's birthday, we were actually in Richmond. I mastered crawling last week, and now I am on to pulling up. This is pretty easy really. I'm not sure why I haven't done this sooner. Of course, you get a little comfortable doing something and that whole balance thing catches up with you. Halloween

This year has been more fun for holidays. I am definitely starting to understand the traditions around each one. I actually had some input into this year's costume. I'm Angelina Ballerina and Will is a UVa student class of 2031. I didn't go door to door this year, but the family did go to a neighborhood party instead. Next year, Dad assures me, I get to practice my "trick or treat."

Carter's Mountain

Sorry for the hiatus. Things have been a bit hectic here. But I'm back now. The family went up to meet the Gyory's at Carter's Mountain near Charlottesville. The farm has apple orchards and they sell lots of seasonal goodies. Luke and I are exploring which pumpkin to choose. And here a rare family shot. Of course, there is always one who cannot play along.

Will can roll around a bit and he is starting to belly crawl, so I need to take advantage of my mobility while I can. It won't be long before he is chasing me around. And it won't be long before he is bigger than me. He almost is already!!!

William and Mary at William and Mary

The family had a staycation in September. But we did do an overnight trip to Williamsburg. Outlet shopping, strolling Colonial Williamsburg and Cracker Barrel. We also strolled by William and Mary to get this shot. A couple of months ago, Will and I paid a visit to the doctor's office. They called us by our first name-William and Mary (Maeve is my middle name). Mom and Dad hadn't realized the coincidence before then.

Dad received word from the FCC that the Fairness Doctrine also applies to websites, so this our attempt to appease them. Of course, there would need to be about 20 more posts after this to balance things out between Virginia and Virginia Tech.

First day of school

Mom and Dad has visions of me posing for a first day of school outfit, but, as you can see, I wasn't cooperating. I don't know what my problem was. I love school! It is just two days a week for half day, but it is so much fun. I'm actually a little disappointed when Dad picks me up.
